Farm Equipment Manufacturer

About Kennco Manufacturing

Kennco manufacturing has been building farm equipment for plasticulture and row crop farming since 1973.

Ken McElwain opened a welding and machine shop in 1973. In 1975, he and Robin Knowles incorporated the business as Kennco Manufacturing, Inc. We are located in Ruskin, Florida on 15 acres, with 60,000 square feet of manufacturing facilities. Over the years we’ve developed the deepest product line for raised bed plasticulture farming in the industry, and our customers always get the personal attention they need to make sure they get what they want.

As we work to develop new products we are also continuously improving our existing products while working closely with our customers to provide the exact equipment they need. We are proud to say that much of our staff has been with us since the beginning, which gives us experience that is unmatchable in the industry. We are fiercely proud of our work, and our people, that go the extra mile when designing and building your equipment. We are proud of what we do and are locally owned and operated by employee stockholders whose goal is to continue to design and build equipment to save you money.

Commercial Farm Equipment

We manufacture farming equipment, revising many of them over and over until we felt they were the best they could be. Current versions save YOU labor. Many growers tell us that our newer farm products pay for themselves in less than one crop cycle.

Industrial Services

In addition to manufacturing our own product line we have the ability to provide our customers with services such as engineering, fabrication, machining, sandblast, paint, assembly, and distribution.

Parts

The parts we put on our equipment are available as
replacements parts in our parts department. In addition to parts for Kennco products, we have a
wide variety of common parts used on agricultural
equipment. We also have Jeff, our Parts Manager, for the past 40 years.

Additionally, the efficiency of our equipment enables growers to leverage acreage they couldn’t use before due to labor and time constraints. Growers that use Kennco equipment yield more, better crops than ever before.

Customized For You

We understand that farming is not a cookie cutter operation. That’s why much of our equipment is built to spec for your specific needs. When you order your farm equipment from Kennco, we gather all your measurements and build the equipment to your specifications. If we don’t have a product that completes a task you need done, we will work with you to create a solution that will save you hours of time in the field, and thousands on labor costs.

We farm in the Southern Cape in South Africa. We are using a single row Kennco machine and plastic layer. We are doing strawberries on 60ha. Machines were imported three years ago and we recently imported another bedformer and plastic layer. It has changed our business in a great positive way.

The Kennco Plastic Mulch retriever cut my cost in half. It paid for itself after the first 200 acres, and will only increase my profit every acre, every year after that.

I've been a customer of theirs for at least 30 years. They always accommodate me when I have a need and another thing I like is their ability to change with the times and change with technology. I've had a great relationship with them and expect to in the future.
