Multiple Bed High Speed Plastic Mulch Layer
Printable Catalog Page (opens a new window)

Our high speed plastic mulch layers are available as multiple bed units. Most commonly, a 3 bed unit is used to lay plastic mulch quickly. Imagine moving through the field covering 3 planting beds at once and laying drip irrigation tape into each bed at the same time. You can do it with our multiple bed units.

When considering the use of a multiple bed unit, it is important to remember that they are fabricated on a rigid frame, so they work best in flat level fields. Multiple bed units are usually available only in odd number beds, 3 or 5 beds at a time. The row centers must stagger around the tractor tires, which is usually not possible in a 2 bed unit.

A multiple bed plastic mulch layer should follow an equally spaced multiple row superbedder. It is very difficult to follow a single row bed shaper with a multiple row mulch layer due to the importance of matching the row center spacing between the two implements perfectly. If one of the beds is not spaced exactly, it is difficult to lay the plastic mulch properly.
