Plastic Mulch Layer Option - Press
Pan |

| If you are going to use your mulch layer to apply a fumigant,
then you must have a way to seal the slit created by the gas knives. The
gas knives will tear up the planting bed as they pass through it, and the
damage they create must be repaired. A press pan can be added to your mulch
layer for this purpose.
Press pans for mulch layers are different from those described earlier in the catalog for bed shapers. They are mounted differently and include soil kick-outs that dig the cup (trench) where the edge of the mulch will be buried. It is critical that the press pan on the plastic mulch layer match the size of the press pan on the bed shaper that formed the bed. If it is too small, it will push soil in front of the bed. Press pans are only available for high speed mulch layers and are not available for Blue Line layers. Pan-type layers and the precision mulch layer come with a press pan as part of their design. It is important to specify the exact width and height of your planting bed when ordering a press pan for a mulch layer. |

| Press pans are sold separately from plastic mulch layers. Press pans which form beds taller than 8 in (20cm) are available, but require selection of the next larger size pan Part #. For example, a 40 in wide bed that is 10 in high would require a BP99X8 press pan. Call our sales department for weights and dimensions. | ||
