Plastic Mulch Layer Options - Fumigation Gas

| It is often desirable to apply a fumigant to the planting
bed with your plastic mulch layer. The plastic mulch covers the bed immediately
after application and prevents dissipation of the gas into the atmosphere.
We manufacture several different kinds of gas knives for fumigation with our plastic mulch machines. Our standard gas knives (part #s 55081, 55083, and 55084) can mount on the 4 in (10 cm) square frame used on our high speed machines. They cannot be used in our Blue Line, pan type, or precision mulch layers. Our preferred gas knives for use with mulch layers are the pan mounted (part #s 55080 and 55082) gas knives. These gas knives have a narrower profile that causes less damage to the bed as they pass through it. They bolt directly to the inside top surface of the press pan. (Kennco does not advise using gas knives with its mulch layers without a press pan to re-press the bed and seal the fumigant into the bed.) Click here for more information on gas knives. |

| Positioning of gas knives, and number of gas knives attached to implements, is the sole decision of the customer. Kennco does not provide hose, fittings or other components of plumbing for fumigation systems.
