Fertilizer Applicators - 1 and 3 Bed
Printable Catalog Page (opens a new window)

Kennco doesn’t just make attachments to apply fertilizer with our superbedders. We make a variety of implements specifically for nutrient application.

Our 3 bed fertilizer applicator is a 10,000 lb (4545 kg) rig that straddles 3 planting beds to apply dry fertilizer to the surface of shaped beds. In its standard form, it is constructed of 12 gauge steel that is cold galvanized prior to painting. It is also available in stainless steel. The feed chain is driven by a hydraulic motor on our standard units, but a ground wheel drive system is also available. The ground drive wheels are engaged hydraulically. A 12 in stainless steel chain is used to move fertilizer to the exit door, which is adjustable to control the application rate.

The 3 bed fertilizer applicator is pulled by the tractor’s drawbar. A smaller tractor can be used to pull it through the field compared to that required to carry a superbedder and 6000 pound fertilizer distributor on a three-point hitch.

A separate fertilizer applicator also gives the grower flexibility in timing nutrient applications that a superbedder-mounted applicator does not.

Our 1 bed fertilizer applicator is also a 10,000 lb (455 kg) rig, but it is designed to apply fertilizer to a single bed or to operate as a broadcast distributor. The unit is pulled by a tractor, straddling a single planting bed. Utilizing the same catch hoppers as our other units, it drops fertilizer on the surface of the planting bed in 1, 2, or 3 bands, or evenly (bandcast) across the top of the bed.

This unit is constructed of 12 gage steel that is cold galvanized prior to painting. It is also available in stainless steel. It uses a 12 in feed chain that runs the length of the unit to completely empty the hopper. The chain is ground driven by a hydraulically engaged wheel.

Our 1 bed fertilizer applicator is also available for use as a broadcast spreader. The catch hopper can be replaced with a hydraulically controlled spinner to spread a swath of fertilizer on any field.

Self-contained fertilizer rigs are pulled by a tractor, or other vehicle, drawbar. When ordering the "bandcast" catch hopper and distributor, the customer must specify the exact width that they want to apply the fertilizer to the bed top. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that they have enough tractor horsepower to pull a fertilizer distributor through the field. Kennco's sales department can only advise on horsepower requirements and can provide equipment weights and dimensions. Fertilizer capacity is approximate.
