Chop gates are important to growers who work fields that require a tremendous amount of water management. Our chop gate attaches to the back of a superbedder or powerbedder for the purpose of creating a break, or a cross ditch, in the bed. The cross ditch allows for sideways movement of runoff water in the field. Our chop gate operates hydraulically. It has its own hydraulic pump, and is powered by the tractor’s PTO. The chop gate is controlled by a field worker, who rides on top of the equipment in a safe position, or by the tractor driver. The operator controls the chop gate by activating the hydraulics at any location in the field. The operator completely controls cross ditching placement.
